Vaidisova Deemed Unstoppable

Unstoppable. Nicole Vaidisova is.

Citizen Watch Company announced today that it has signed 17-year old Nicole Vaidisova to its international media campaign, Unstoppable.

Unconfirmed reports are that Vaidisova signed on for $150,000 annually for a two-year deal.

Print ads featuring the Czech teen will begin to run in April in a variety of magazines including People, Us Weekly, Glamour, Marie Claire, Latina and LouLou.

While other luxury watch companies have used celebrities as endorsers for their pricey timepieces, Citizen has instead focused on golfers and tennis players, and on sporting events like the U.S. Open and the America’s Cup regatta.

Citizen has been a great sponsor of tennis, previously signing ATP star James Blake to its roster of athletes to a 2 year stint in 2003. In 2005, the company renewed its U.S. Open sponsorship through 2010 for close to $23 million. Other than Omega’s sponsorship of the Olympic Games, the Citizen-Open deal is said to be one of the largest ever watch sponsorships of a sports property.

Nicole joins the Citizen print team alongside other notable athletes including LPGA golfer Paula Creamer, Charlotte Bobcats basketball star Emeka Okafor; and two-time winner of the Daytona 500, Michael Waltrip. Citizen also runs television spots featuring Waltrip and figure skater Sasha Cohen. Cohen has been with the watchmaker since 2003.

This is a pretty big deal for the pretty blond player. Could a camera and some fruit juice be far behind?

Why don’t these kids ever endorse shit that they want and need, like Starbucks and ProActiv?

She hasn’t even done crap yet.
Vaidisova: Two SF appearances at GS’s.
Sharapova: Two Grand Slam wins, several SF appearances, World No. 1 ranking, etc…
In fact, Vaidisova has yet to make it past the SF of a Tier II.
Whatev.

Btw is it just me or does Tim Henman just seem to get hotter and hotter with age?
Those pics in the sidebar of him with Annacone are stunning. Go Tim!

Why you hatin’ on Nicole?

And, I’ll take ‘It’s just you’ for 400 please, Alex. Tim Henman looks like a casting reject from the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

you can say nothing wrong about Miss Vaidisova. well, unless you want to address her lack of variety which i’m certain she’s working on. beyond that, she’s GORGEOUS. pretty girls rule. especially if they can hit the ball that hard.

figure skater Sasha Cohen was also heavily featured by Citizen. the TV spots would show her whirling around on the ice, zoom in and you NEVER saw a watch on her wrist which i always thought was odd. but i digress.
